About Wincanton Baptist Church

Home Page

Thank you for visiting the Wincanton Baptist Church web site. There has been a Baptist Church in the town since 1829 when a group of eight local Christians were baptised and agreed together to form a Baptist fellowship. The present building was opened in 1883.

Our constitution says we are an Evangelical Church and this perspective directs our life together. We have a concern for the spiritual needs of the town, the county and the world. We are a warm hearted community of Christians made up from people across the whole age range.

Our services are contemporary with a recognition of the great musical heritage across the generations. Our Sunday service contains something of interest for all ages.

At the centre of our Sunday service is the preaching of/teaching from the bible (God's inspired word written and recorded for the benefit and enrichment of all mankind.

We are part of the Baptist Union of Gt. Britain and relate to other Baptist Churches in the area. We also we have good relations with the local churches in Wincanton and Christian fellowships nearby.

You will be warmly welcomed at WBC and we hope to see you when you are in this part of Somerset on holiday or come to live in the town or district.

If you would like more information about the church and all its activities or would like to arrange an appointment or visit contact us using the details on our "Contact Page".
