These are very much friendship mornings. Anyone can come in and will be welcomed warmly by the team. There is a lot of chatter and laughter, much eating of home made cake and drinking of tea and coffee.
In addition there is often a craft table for those interested to get involved.
Joyce Page, who set up the initial monthly meeting with a group of friends, had the vision of these mornings being a place, where those suffering from bereavement might find a place to be befriended and listened to. She had undertaken a six week course on listening to and supporting the bereaved. This facility is still available, either in the hall, or on a more individual basis in a smaller meeting room, during the mornings. Other trained people have been added to the team.
There is no charge, but donations can be made. These go towards the support of missionaries. At the moment the group are supporting Paul and Rachel Elliston, who are working in Peru
